Paula Brumit Scholarship

ASFO would like to announce a scholarship named on behalf of Paula Brumit, “The Paula C. Brumit Scholarship for Professional Advancement”.

Paula C. Brumit, DDS, D-ABFO received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Baylor College of Dentistry. She became Board Certified by the American Board of Forensic Odontology in 2008. Dr. Brumit lived her life in tireless service to others promoting personal growth and education. She mentored countless dentists working toward the goal of board certification with a generous spirit, thoughtful nature and willingness to share knowledge, training and experience. Dr. Brumit held numerous leadership positions in the American Academy of Forensic Sciences and American Board of Forensic Dentistry. She was on faculty at the Center for Education and Research in Forensics, Fellowship in Forensic Odontology; and, the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine, Forensic Dentistry Fellowship where she taught and mentored aspiring forensic dentists. At the time of her untimely death, Dr. Brumit was an appointee to the Forensic Science Accreditation Board and to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as a Team Adam Consultant; and, she was soon to be appointed Associate Professor at the Lincoln Memorial University, College of Dental Medicine to teach in the DMD Program.

The Paula C. Brumit Scholarship for Professional Advancement is a renewable annual scholarship created to provide dental auxiliary the opportunity to develop educationally and professionally toward the completion of their dental degree at the Lincoln Memorial University, College of Dental Medicine.
